The Fivelements Experience

Last December, I had the pleasure of staying at The Fivelements Bali. Located in a secluded area along the Ayung river in Ubud sits the most tranquil luxury wellness retreat. The retreat has an exclusive number of villas with an outdoor bathtub overlooking the calm river.  This award-winning eco-conscious wellness retreat makes for a peaceful sanctuary to embrace the authentic Bali experience. If you’re seeking a once-in-a-lifetime retreat experience, read on to see my review on it.

Room
There are a total of nine eco-luxurious bedroom villas, complete with open air bathrooms to ensure an exclusive stay with exemplary personalized service. We stayed in the Pertiwi riverside suite for 2 nights and were welcomed with a lovely drink and fruit basket. Everything about the suite was captivating, from the small attention of details on the wall to the fascinating interior and calming atmosphere. The tree house like villas felt like we were encased in nature with our own private space. All lights and music in the room is controlled with a tablet, and the colours of lights in the outdoor bathtub and can be changed as you please. The outdoor bathroom and shower was my absolute favourite with well-equipped amenities and mosquito repellent (very essential when in Bali).

Food
In all honestly, I had no idea what it would be like to be a vegetarian/vegan as I love my meat! But after having a full two days of raw vegan meals at the Fivelements, I can honestly say that my perspective on this has changed for the better! Everything about the food here surpassed all my expectations. We had the 3-Course Chef’s Tasting Lunch on the first day which was divine… And on the second day, we ended our stay with the 5-Course Gourmet Chef’s Tasting Dinner. Each dish was beautifully presented and served with a wide range of unique and exquisite ingredients to create an unforgettable meal.

Spa
If you have been on my Instagram lately, you may have noticed me posting about this special experience.  We got a Hibiscus Prema Signature Couples Ritual where we were given a gentle foot spa followed by an aroma oil massage. There is nothing more soothing then getting a spa with the sound of running river and rain in the background. As though that wasn’t enough, we ended the spa treatment with an aromatic flower bath overlooking the river while sipping on a hibiscus juice.

Conclusion
The service here was exceptional, with exemplary personalized services by the friendly staff. The room was made up by the staff twice a day and every request we had was taken care of with a special touch. The retreat is so secluded that it felt like we were the only guests at the time. Although the price of this more on the high-end side, this is an experienced not to be missed. If you are looking for a blissful getaway or romantic honeymoon, Fivelements is your go to destination.

Have you ever stayed at a wellness retreat? I would love to hear about your experience!
